Teaching

I am qualified as an English Ski Council Club Instructor.  This allows me to teach people to ski up the standard of snow plough turns on dry slopes in the UK. I started teaching people to ski on the dry ski slope at Harlow Sport Centre in 1999. I worked there for about a year and a half, until the slope  was closed down after a land slide. In November 2000 I started work at Gosling Ski Centre in Welwyn Garden City. During the winter season I work 7 - 10 on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. To book ski lessons, both individual private or group sessions please phone the Ski School on 01707 384384, you are recommended to book early as dates during November and December are already filling up. As soon as the prices for the new ski season are published I will put details on this site.

Often after or during a lesson I am asked a number of questions. These pages on my web site are intended to answer these questions and provide more information for any one that is interested. The topics covered include further reading, getting fit for skiing, exercises on snow etc.

For my resort comments please refer to my main skiing pages. For resorts that I have visited, I have written small reports and included some photographs. Some of the early photos have been taken with a normal camera and scanned in so the picture quality is not brilliant, but the more recent visits have been recorded with a digital camera giving much clearer images.
